Homemade Ice tea.

What I love about homemade ice tea is that you can experiment with it as much as you want! You can totally personalize it to your own flavour. I happen to love lemon tea a lot, so that's what I tend to go by. But you can just as easily make it with camomile, rosehip tea, ... whatever you get your hands on. I've also heard that you can make this cold brewed. I didn't do that this time but maybe I'll try it in the future! Here's how I made my version:

Ingredients

  • 1l hot water
  • 2 tea bags (choose any flavour you want, I used regular earl gray)
  • sugar
  • lemon juice (freshly squeezed is always best)
  • ice cubes (optional)
I didn't include exact measurements for the sugar and lemon juice because it's really dependent on your taste. For example, I love my tea very very (very!) sweet, so I add a lot of sugar (a lot!). If you like sour, add less sugar and more lemon. Just taste your tea as you're making it.

Preparation

  1. Soak the tea bags in the hot water.
  2. Add any flavours you like. I added sugar and lemon juice. Taste as you go along.
  3. Put in a bottle and put in the fridge for a couple of hours.
  4. When it's cooled off, add a few ice cubes and enjoy. Perfect for a hot summer day!
