Heart tights.

Since Valentine's Day is approaching, I thought it would be okay if I got a little corny. I'm normally not really into heart shaped things or anything but it is almost Valentine's Day and well.. I just got caught up, I guess. I wanted to DIY some tights for quite some time but I didn't really know what figure I wanted to put on the knee. So basically, this gave me the perfect excuse to put a heart on it. You want to know how to do it? Find out below:

Necessities

  • Tights (maybe start out with an old pair to give it a try)
  • Fabric paint in which ever color you prefer
  • A piece of cardboard
  • Paint brush
  • Tape (make sure it sticks on fabric)
  • Baking paper
  • Scissors
  • Pencil

How to do it

  1. If your tape isn't big/wide enough like mine was, than just tape different strips of tapes over each other on a baking paper until you have a square.
  2. Draw which ever shape you prefer on it (I used a heart as you can see) and cut it out.
  3. Put on your tights and decide where you want the figure to be. I chose the knees and just put a little cross on that spot with a pencil.
  4. Take it back off and cut out a quite large piece of cartboard, almost as wide as your leg is and put in in your tights, on the spot where you put the cross.
  5. Tape over your taped square with your figure and paint it in with the fabric paint.
  6. Take out the cardboard and let it dry for as long as it says on the box (maybe you need to do some other things to like iron it or something).
  7. Take of the tape and start wearing your new tights!
